COACH: Vaughan Somers

Vaughan Somers

Vaughan Somers turned professional in 1972, and has been a AAA rated PGA Member for the past 33 years.

Vaughan was voted Coach of the Year in QLD and was also voted into the inaugural Top 50 Coaches in Australia, a position he has held ever since.

Enjoying 11 years on the Australian, Asian and European tours, which included 5 victories and being awarded the Jack Newton award for the most consistent player on tour in 1986. Vaughan retired from full time tour life in 1989 to take up the role of Head Professional at Burleigh Heads Golf Club, where he went on to win the Queensland Club Professional Championship and the Queensland Senior Club Professional Championship.

Vaughan joined Melbourne Golf Academy in 2004 as General Manager and Head Professional of Capital Golf Club.  Through his passion and knowledge of this great game, Vaughan's aim is to increase player participation of the game we all love.

Vaughan is available for private lessons on the following days:

  • Monday 12noon ~ 2pm
  • Wednesday 1pm ~ 4pm
  • Thursday 1pm ~ 4pm
  • Friday 1pm ~ 4pm

 Pricing for private lessons:

  • 30 minute adult ~ $55
  • 1 hour adult ~ $110
